Job description

MISSIONS

You will join the Operations department, whose mission is to deploy the Metroscope software at our customers’ sites, as well as to maintain and continuously improve the diagnostic methodology. The department is divided into 3 teams: Project Management, Process and Data Science.

As a member of the Process team, your missions will be:

  • Study and understand the operation of our industrial customers’ thermodynamic plants and cycles (nuclear power plants and CCGTs).

  • Participate in the development of our in-house modeling library (library evolution, writing new components, academic partnerships, etc.) and in the improvement of our practices.

  • Build physical numerical models of complex industrial installations using the modeling library, in direct collaboration with operators.

  • Contribute to codes designed to enhance the value of industrial data.

  • Participate in the extension of Metroscope’s technological perimeter.

This list is not exhaustive. You will be part of a small team of 6 people involved in high-stakes projects for Metroscope, which will give you autonomy and room for initiative.

Your work will be partly operational (working on our customers’ power plants) and partly R&D (improving our methods and increasing our scope). Last but not least, don’t forget your safety shoes, because modeling is all about getting to know the field!

Preferred experience

PREFERRED PROFIL

  • You are an engineer with a solid background in the physical sciences, particularly thermodynamics,

  • You have previous experience in modeling physical systems, ideally in Modelica,

  • You are familiar with the use of Python for scientific purposes.

  • You have a grounding in statistics that you can rely on it to make sense of the large quantities of customer data. Rigor and perseverance will be your allies in analysis!

  • You’re passionate about the energy sector and want to help our customers improve their performance and meet the challenge of the energy transition.

  • You’re curious, autonomous and thrive on solving complex technical problems in an industrial environment. You’d like to regularly go out on site in direct contact with the operating teams.

  • As our customers are both French and foreign, fluency in English is essential.

If, after reading this description, you’re not sure that you’re the right person for the job, we strongly encourage you to apply and tell us what motivates you and what you’d like to bring to Metroscope!

WHY JOIN US?

  • A positive impact on the climate. We are committed to the energy transition and contribute to the energy efficiency of industrial players, particularly power plants (nuclear, gas, etc.)

  • A human, positive and caring work environment, which values cultural exchanges
